Who we are

The Ravensbourne Sporting Association is an incorporated body associated with Tennis Queensland.

The RSA principally functions around the Ravensbourne Recreation Reserve 3217 Esk-Hampton Rd Ravensbourne Qld Map.

Annual membership of the association provides access to the tennis court facilities, and covers personal insurance while engaged in Sporting Association activities. Children of members need to be registered for insurance purposes.

Membership for 2017 is due on 1 January. Full membership - $85; Non-playing Associates - $20; Children - no fee; non-member playing fee - $5.

Non-members are always welcome to participate in Sporting Association activities such as community walks, sports days, fun run and tournaments.

Family friendly social tennis (Summer 2016-17) - Friday 7pm (under lights) & Sunday 4pm.

The RSA also conducts community events on the oval at the reserve such as the Fun Run to Beutel’s Lookout. We also have walks on local country roads and in the adjacent Ravensbourne National Park, Mount Perseverance Reserve and the Perseverance Creek Forestry Reserve. A Horse Ride and Camp-oven Dinner is being planned again. The nearby Lake Cressbrook provides opportunities for camping, fishing, canoeing and other lake side children’s recreation areas.

We thankfully acknowledge that these grounds are generally maintained by Toowoomba Regional Council.

An enclosure on the grounds is for the horses etc using the National Trail (refer to the National Trail website for details of use).

The historic Munro Tramway passes through this area. Refer to the Munro Tramway Historical Group website for details.

The roadside area (outside the round log fence) is a popular over-night RV travelling stop with a TRC maintained toilet and roadside picnic table.

With nearby coffee shops, restaurants and accommodation all available locally – what better destination for a weekend or a life time.

Tennis courts are available for hire to non-members. Contact either Maree Taylor (07 4697 8152 or the Somervaille family (07 4697 8132) to make a booking.  Hire is $10/court/hour.  Non-members playing fee (host member responsible for collection) - $5/player/event.

Community End Of Month BBQ

Tennis will start from 4.00 pm with the BBQ continuing on afterwards. As usual, bring your drinks, meat and a plate of something to share.
