Head south on the New England Highway (A3) towards Toowoomba.
Turn right to Goombungee
Moderate surface, good sweepers
Turn left to Goombungee
In Goombungee turn right at T-junction, travel 300m in Mocatta St, turn left to Oakey (Pechey-McLagan Rd
Good fast road with sweepers. After two 70kph advisory signs, road has wavy surface.
Turn left to Oakey (Oakey-Cooyar Rd).
Good straight stretch
Turn right to Acland (Acland-Silverleigh Rd)
Cross Francis St Acland
Acland now abandoned due to mining. The Anzac Memorial has been preserved.
1km single width bitumen
Turn left into Jondaryan-Muldu Rd
(Road to right goes to Acland Mine). Good, wide fast road, but beware road trains carrying coal.
Follow signs over rail line to Warrego Highway. Turn right on to Highway, travel 300 m.
Turn left at Jondaryan Hotel to Woolshed
Historic displays. Adults $13 Concession $11.50.
Free access to toilets. Tea and Damper available 9am-1pm Mon-Tue.
300m back to the road and further on to second entrance. Free access to licensed Café behind the woolshed. Open 8am – 4pm Tue-Sun.
Range of overnight accommodation available.
Return to Jondaryan Hotel. Turn right onto Warrego Highway toward Toowoomba.
Exit Highway. Take slip lane to Oakey.
Note the spherical biogas storage at the Abattoir on the right.
Optional visit to Army Aviation Museum. Turnoff over rail line, follows signs.
Continue through Oakey to Warrego Hwy toward Toowoomba. Turn left at the Zimms Corner Service Station to Kingsthorpe/ Goombungee.
Wiggle over rail line and through Kingsthorpe.
Long 60kph limit on the north side of town.
Pass 2nd 2 None Winery (formerly Wedgetail Ridge)
Turn right to Meringandan (Yallangur-Lilyvale Rd)
Good sweepers, but poor surface in four 70kph advisory sections

Follow Meringandan Rd eastward, past Borneo Barracks Golf Course to New England Highway.
Turn left toward Crows Nest.
Very patched surface. Some 80 kph sections
